Kate Callaway

Spa Manager and Aesthetician 

Kate is a 2014 graduate of Academy of Aesthetic Arts and has been immersed in the field of beauty and aesthetics since 2012. She has been part of the Sunlight Team since 2015. She has a detailed background in cosmetic retail and makeup artistry, which inspired a love for the skin beneath. She enjoys tailoring facial treatments to each clients’ particular skincare needs and is trained in full-body waxing. Kate prefers a more aggressive, yet balanced approach to skin and body therapies. For that reason, she particularly enjoys chemical resurfacing treatments and microdermabrasion. She has been fortunate enough to have been formerly trained with several highly renowned cosmesceutical lines, including GM Collin, CBI Professionals, Skin Script RX, Control Correctives, Lira and (her favorite) Image Skincare. She is always looking to broaden her knowledge of all things mind and body wellness.

Kyle Askew

Massage Therapist

Kyle has been a massage therapist for 8 years. She attended BMSI Institute in Overland Park KS. She specializes in Swedish massage, reflexology, prenatal, aromatherapy and has been a Reiki practitioner for 5 years. Reiki is a form of energy work great for stress relief, relaxation and heightening the body’s natural life force also known as “chi”, helping every system in the body function better. She has experience with all age groups from pediatrics to the elderly. She truly loves the art of massge. In addition Kyle loves all art forms, gardening, playing outside and spending time with family and friends. Kyle looks forward to meeting you

Amanda Goetz

Massage Therapist

Amanda has been a licensed and nationally certified massage therapist since 2005. She specializes in Swedish and hot stone massage and also enjoys doing Chinese cupping to promote the flow of energy through the body. Her goal is to provide a relaxing and therapeutic experience for every client. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, playing piano, and watching college basketball.

Lauren Smith

Aesthetician and Massage Therapist

Lauren’s journey with Sunlight Day Spa began as an Image Skincare certified Aesthetician early on in 2009. She enjoys a working with a powerful skin care regimen through the Image Cosmeceutical Skincare collection that includes monthly chemical peels from the Clinical Couture line and regular facials to help everyone achieve their most vibrant complexion. In 2011, Lauren became a Licensed Massage Therapist to help meet all of her clients’ needs in health and wellness. She specializes in a therapeutic style with firm pressure, fluid movements, and simple stretches in order to allow the client to fully let go of all day-to-day stresses. Lauren avidly promotes coupling all spa experiences with the Sunlighten Broad-spectrum Infrared Therapy Saunas to achieve utmost results in relaxation and rejuvenation of mind and body. As the realm of massage therapy and skincare changes by the day, she advances her knowledge by attending educational classes and conventions. During her free time, Lauren can be found out and about with her dogs at the park, at a concert or using her very own Infrared Therapy Solo Sauna.

Kim Heckman


Kim attended Academy of Aesthetic Arts and received her license in 2013. She joined the Sunlight Day Spa Team March of 2014. Kim believes that a good consistent skincare regimen is imperative to maintain beautiful skin at any age. Her goal is to develop an individualized routine for her clients to prolong the results of these treatments and prevent any further damage. She specializes in European facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and body treatments.

Rachel White

Massage Therapist

Rachel graduated from Heritage College in October 2013. As someone who has suffered from chronic migraines, the healing aspect of massage drew her in.  As a massage therapist, she loves being able to customize each session to the client.  She personally feels like there’s no one who couldn’t benefit from the healing touch of massage and loves all the wonderful clients she gets to work with.  She likes to incorporate all modalities into her sessions based on the clients goals. When she’s not at Sunlight Day Spa, Rachel likes watching and attending Royals and Chiefs games and spending time with her family. 

Brianne Benton


Brianne joined the SDS team in April 2015.  She attended Marinello School of Beauty in Overland Park, KS where she completed 1000 hours of aesthetics training and became a Licensed Aesthetician in 2013.

Brianne believes that investing in your skin is an investment that lasts a lifetime! She prides herself in making sure her clients not only leave relaxed, but also better informed on how to maintain their skin in-between services. She analyzes the needs of each client and takes them through a customized, results-oriented, skincare journey.  Aside from facial treatments, she also specializes in body treatments, full body waxing, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels.

Outside of SDS, she likes to cook, listen to  music, and spend time with her daughter. She also spends a lot of her spare time reading and expanding her knowledge of advanced aesthetics, skincare ingredients, and cosmetic chemistry. She believes continuing education is key to being the best Aesthetician she can be.

Brittany Barlow

Massage Therapist

Brittany is a licensed and nationally certified massage therapist who graduated from Wellspring School of Allied Health in 2011. She regularly attends continuing education classes to further her knowledge and specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Raindrop Therapy. Brittany loves helping her clients melt away their everyday stresses and tension. In her free time she can be found enjoying the outdoors and playing with her son.

Cheryl Coon

Massage Therapist

Cheryl enjoys helping people release stress and pain trapped in their bodies from sports, other active pursuits, and hours working on the computer. As both a former athlete and a corporate refugee, she can relate to and work on the stress the body endures from athletics and corporate careers. She specializes in deep tissue massage and the relaxation of Swedish massage, yet always works to individualize your massage to meet personal needs. Cheryl is also trained as a chef and instructor of plant-based foods through the Matthew Kenney Academy in California and Alyssa Cohen, in Maine. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, live music, photography and Kansas City Royals baseball. Cheryl studied massage at Wellspring School of Allied Health.

Ashley Roth


Ashley attended Heritage College and got her esthetics license in 2010. Her advanced training includes Image Skincare product knowledge, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, dermaplaning, CBI products, mineral makeup and waxing. She enjoys helping her clients feel great about themselves and their skin and believes putting together a skin care plan for each client puts them one step closer to achieving beautiful, healthy skin. Ashley loves working with her clients creating optimal results for a beautiful, radiant glow. When she isn’t pampering her clients, she can be found spending time with her family and friends, listening to live music, watching movies, and enjoying the outdoors.
